Employment VerificationUpdated 12 days ago

Question: What are the employment verification requirements for purchasing agency-branded apparel?

Answer: Uniform security and integrity are serious matters. FEDS Apparel takes steps to ensure that agency-branded apparel is only provided to individuals who are currently authorized and eligible to purchase items associated with the agency they represent.

If your order contains any item displaying agency-specific logos, insignia, lettering, badges, branding, markings, or other identifying information, you must be actively employed by that specific agency.

All applicable orders are subject to employment verification before fulfillment. This process is used to confirm that the individual placing the order is an active employee of the government agency or entity whose branding appears on the items being purchased.

How to Help Expedite Employment Verification

To help streamline the verification process and minimize potential delays or disruptions, FEDS Apparel recommends the following:

  • Use your agency-issued email address when placing your order.
  • Enter your name exactly as it appears in your agency's personnel records.
  • Only order items branded for an agency by which you are currently employed.
  • Ensure that the information provided during checkout is accurate and consistent with your current employment information.

Following these recommendations may help make the verification process smoother, but additional verification may still be required.

Ordering for Another Agency

You may not purchase agency-branded items for an agency that does not currently employ you. Being a government employee, contractor, former employee, retiree, collector, or otherwise affiliated with an agency does not make you eligible to purchase that agency's restricted branded items.

For example, if you are currently employed by Agency A, you cannot purchase Agency B-branded apparel unless you are also an active employee of Agency B and otherwise meet all applicable eligibility requirements.

Orders That Cannot Be Verified

If FEDS Apparel is unable to verify that you are an active employee of the agency represented on the products in your order, the order may be automatically canceled.

Providing inaccurate employment information, using another individual's credentials, attempting to order items for an agency you do not work for, or otherwise attempting to circumvent the employment verification process may result in cancellation of the order.

Unauthorized or Fraudulent Procurement

Attempting to fraudulently obtain agency-branded apparel or misrepresenting your employment status is a serious matter. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, fraudulent attempts to procure agency-branded apparel or impersonate a government employee may result in legal consequences, including potential criminal penalties.

FEDS Apparel cooperates with affected agencies and appropriate law enforcement authorities when necessary and may provide information or assistance regarding suspected fraudulent attempts to obtain agency-branded apparel or impersonate government personnel.

Who Is Eligible?

FEDS Apparel does not sell agency-branded items to the general public, hobbyists, collectors, retirees, or former employees of an agency.

Agency-branded items are only available to active employees of the specific agency represented on the item, subject to successful employment verification and any other applicable requirements.

Important: Employment verification is tied to the specific agency represented on the product. Current employment with one government agency does not automatically make you eligible to purchase branded items from another agency.
